The Festival of Marvel Fans——MCU10 : Marvel Movie Marathon

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is an American media franchise and shared universe that is centered on a series of superhero films, independently produced by Marvel Studios and based on characters that appear in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Since the first MCU movie Iron Man was released in 2008, Marvel has developed several comics characters in a decade. These superheroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Ant-Man all have their own independent films now. The first phase of MCU began with Iron Man (2008), and culminating in the crossover film Marvel’s The Avengers (2012). Phase Two began with Iron Man 3 (2013) and concluded with Ant-Man (2015). The MCU films are currently in the third Phase, which began with the release of Captain America: Civil War (2016) and is set to conclude with the final Avengers film (2019).

Avengers: Infinity War was released on April 27, 2018. After four months, people’s enthusiasm for superheroes is fading. Just then, the MCU First Ten Years Film Festival arrived in Melbourne. With the company of audiences, the development of MCU was increasing in the first decade. From Iron Man (2008) to Avengers: Infinity War (2018), many fans also grew up with these familiar superheroes. MCU First Ten Years Film Festival gives people a chance to look back. The showing of these series of MCU movies based on the timeline once again brought people back to the crazy days for Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor.

I became a Marvel fan in 2011 because of the villain of Thor(2011), Loki. The first activity I booked with my friend was MCU10 2008 – 2011 Marvel Movie Marathon. This includes four films which are Iron Man(2008), Iron Man 2(2010), Thor(2011), Captain America: The First Avenger(2011). 1111111

After looking back at these movies based on the timeline, we could see the Easter egg of every movie is connected. The Marathon gave me the chance to watch my favorite movies at the cinema again. Especially as MCU begins its third phase, it is easy to see or guess the bad ending of some popular characters. When I watch this generation superheroes growing up, experiencing so many surprises and painful moments, and looked back at their youthful demeanor, I also seemed to be looking back on the years I have been with them.

In some ways, a film is also a dream-making tool. It brings us lots of happiness and sadness. Marvel Studio not only created a movie universe, let those famous superheroes out of the comic books, but also customized the unique stories belonging to each audience based on their universe in the first decade.

Maybe this is what Marvel’s success is. Besides the success of creating the film universe, they have made a close connection with every audience. When a movie and its characters affect you and are closely related to your own growth experience. How could you not love it?

Whatever how the final avengers movie would end up with these superheroes in 2019, you will still buy movie tickets on the days when every MCU movie is released in cinemas.
